LOS ANGELES – Undefeated Muay Thai fighter Simon Marcus will take Sweden’s Sadibou Sy, when MUAY THAI IN AMERICA (MTIA) in honor of the King of Thailand’s birthday heads to Raleigh Studios in Play Vista, CA on Saturday, Dec. 1. The event will air live on DIRECT TV® and INDEMAND® at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

In honor of the King of Thailand’s Birthday, MTIA will bring together 18 of the best Muay Thai fighters, “Nak Muay”, from the U.S. and around the world to participate in eight fierce bouts, live before an international audience. This will be an unprecedented red carpet gala affair in celebration of the King’s birthday.

MTIA is rapidly positioning itself as a leader in the world of combative stand-up sports. Muay Thai is the most devastating, yet graceful, culturally balanced art form on the planet. Practiced, like a religion throughout the world, Muay Thai is in need of professional execution. MTIA has elevated the presentation of professional Muay Thai to the level of HBO Boxing and that of our closest competitor, ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (UFC). MTIA has set the bar and is expected to become the industry leader in professional martial art competition.

2012-11-25 Support Our Wounded Veterans

The USO is stepping up and tripling its investment in helping our wounded troops find jobs, but we need your support.

These brave warriors have sacrificed so much for our country. Now it’s time for us to give back, and we can start by making sure our wounded troops get the help they need to find rewarding employment.

With your support, the USO is teaming up with Hire Heroes USA to provide over 60 career transition workshops for those who have returned home with injuries. I’m pitching in to help raise the $150,000 it’s going to take to fund the workshops and other key USO initiatives for our troops. Will you join me to reach our goal this week?

Donate now. Help fund workshops specifically designed for wounded troops and other key programs to support our servicemen and women.

By Jason Marsden, Executive Director

This Friday will mark 14 years since the day we lost Matt Shepard. I know from the conversations I’ve had with many of you that those terrible days in October 1998 echo in your memories: where you were, how it felt, the fears, the outrage and the questions you were left with.

We have wrestled with those questions for all these years, too. Matt’s mother and father continue to try to answer them as best they can as they travel the country, and now more of the world to speak to LGBT community members and even more importantly, their allies.

Hatred is powerful, and learned. Hatred is not reasonable, and people can seldom be reasoned out of beliefs they weren’t reasoned into in the first place.
But social forces can work against hatred just as they have worked in its favor for centuries. And so that’s where we at the Foundation have felt our shoulder fits best to the wheel: creating social momentum that pushes hatred aside in favor of understanding, compassion and acceptance.
